A three-year-old boy has been found alive after he went missing for more than two days in a remote mountainous area of southeast China, according to a news website report.
Xiao Yunkai strayed after following his mother and grandfather as they went to a field to harvest rice in Wuping county in Fujian province, the China News Service reported.
Searches were launched for the boy, but without success.
He was eventually found 63 hours after going missing by a group of villagers repairing roads on a mountainside, the report said.
The boy was said to be healthy, barring scratches to his legs and feet, plus an injury to his ear.
His father was quoted as saying that the boy had found water and slept on the ground.
The child was described by his village’s Communist Party secretary as strong willed and brainy.
