A man from northern China has been arrested after he tried to make four pork sausages look like explosives and threatened to blow up his ex-girlfriend and her family if she didn’t meet him again, a newspaper reported.
The man, whose full name was not given, comes from Suifenhe in Heilongjiang province, the Mudanjiang Morning News reported.
He had asked his former girlfriend several times to talk with him about their relationship after they split up.
After he was rejected again on Monday, he became agitated and came up with the idea of using the sausages to look like explosives to force her to meet him, the report said.
He wrapped the sausages in paper and tied them together to make them look like a bomb, then sent his former girlfriend a message on WeChat demanding they meet.
If she failed to turn up, he threatened to kill her and her family, according to the article.
The man’s sister, who did not know the “bomb” was fake, contacted the police after he told her about his plan.
He was arrested on charges of seriously disturbing and endangering public security.
