Favourite Hong Kong restaurants of Kevin Poon, fashion and lifestyle retailer

I love Ho Lee Fook (1 Elgin Street, Central, tel: 2810 0860). It’s because of the head chef Jowett Yu, who makes the best char siu and dumplings. Everything he whips up is super amazing.

The other day, I had the best meal ever at Jimmy’s Kitchen (B/F, South China Building, 1-3 Wyndham Street, Central, tel: 2526 5293) I like the chicken madras – it’s dry, without sauce.

I also enjoy Sevva (25/F, Princes Building, 10 Chater Road, Central, tel: 2537 1388) and Cipriani (12/F, Bank of China Building, Bank Street, Central, tel: 2501 0222).

I love Catalunya (Guardian House, 32 Oi Kwan Road, Wan Chai, tel: 2866 7900) for Spanish food. It’s one of the best in town.

I would take out-of-town visitors to the China Club (13-14/F, Bank of China Building, Bank Street, Central, tel: 2521 8888) because of the nice ambience. Dragon-I (Podium, The Centrium, 60 Wyndham Street, Central, tel: 3110 1222) is also a favourite.

For something more casual, I like to go to Supafood (1 Jervois Street, Sheung Wan, tel: 2812 6088) for a bite after a Topfit gym session. Tai Ping Koon (several locations including 60 Stanley Street, Central, tel: 2899 2780) is also somewhere I like to go, especially for the soufflé.

A guilty pleasure is the International Curry House (26-30 Tai Wong Street East, Wan Chai, tel: 2529 0088), which is amazing.

I go to On Lee Noodle (22 Shau Kei Wan Main Street East, Shau Kei Wan, tel: 2513 8398) for their fish balls.

For lunch, I love going to Morty’s Delicatessen (12-14, LG/F Jardine House, 1 Connaught Place, Central, tel: 3665 0900). They have the best pastrami sandwiches. I enjoy Café Gray Deluxe (Level 49, The Upper House, 88 Queensway, Admiralty, tel: 3968 1106) and, of course, a coffee at Elephant Grounds (several locations including 11 Gough Street, Sheung Wan, tel: 2253 1313).
