Guerlain’s Lingerie de Peau (HK$490/30ml) is so named because the lightweight formula clings to the skin the way lingerie hugs the body. The foundation has a watery consistency and we love the faint fragrance. It comes in three undertones – warm, neutral and cold – to match and even out different skin tones.
Laneige’s BB Cushion SPF50+PA+++ (HK$290) is the third generation of the Korean beauty brand’s signature product. Compared with previous incarnations, it offers better oil control and the puff carries more formula. It gives a dewy glow, which is popular in Korea, but we find it a bit too oily for Hong Kong’s heat and humidity.
For a natural matte finish, try YSL’s Touche Éclat le Teint (HK$550/30ml). This formula provides light coverage, but it’s good value for money as just a little goes a long way. With no built-in SPF, be sure to apply a layer of sunscreen under the foundation.
La Mer’s Soft Fluid Long Wear Foundation(HK$950/30ml) is pricey even for a luxury brand. However, the foundation lasts all day and is very moisturising. It contains the brand’s signature ingredient, Miracle Broth, which is made from fermented sea kelp and has nourishing properties. Wear a thin veil of the product or apply multiple layers for more coverage.
