Clare Waight Keller has really come into her own stride in these last few collections at Chloe. It feels like she’s fully confident and rather happy leading the legion of fans who covet the chic, French bohemian brand founded by Gaby Aighon in the 50s.
Weller has remained faithful to the free-spirited, woman-focused ethos of the brand whilst giving it a contemporary transformation characterised by billowing white skirts, sparse and wide cut casual suiting alongside airy blouses and flowing dresses.
For this collection her colourations have been on point, contrasting soft pastels and mustards with a stricter more formal navy, white and black. See those black and white outfits (voluminous pants will be a hit) that bring a serious edge to office wear. Firm fashionista favourites included the sporty, ab-baring, drawstring colour-block outfit. Pleated colour block dresses were also a winner.
We also adored the clever frills that bounced around on baby doll tier dresses. And those blue and earthy-toned floral prints on tie up, loose crop tops and voluminous pants made for a cool way to do florals.
Throw in a perfectly constructed white summer dress, loosely buttoned along the sides and another with a cascade of white lace flower appliques and tied up with thick straps at the shoulder. And let’s not forget those adorable little half moon miniature handbags with oversized circular metal handles – all but guaranteed to be next season’s ‘it’ bag.
