Sarah Lee Wai-sze clinched the Tokyo Sports Newspaper Cup on Tuesday to claim another easy victory during her keirin campaign in Japan.
In the final of the four-lap race at Kawasaki Velodrome, the Hong Kong rider was hardly challenged by her opponents and sprinted away from the peloton from the second last bend.
Great Britain’s Katy Merchant, who captured a bronze medal in the women’s individual sprint in the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games, finished a distant second.
Having already claimed five wins in Japan, Lee will be put under her biggest test in her final race early next month when she contests the Keiokaku Oval in Tokyo with all four invited overseas riders meeting together, including 2016 Olympic sprint champion Kristina Vogel of Germany.
