Shocking footage has emerged online showing a group of Jiangsu Suning fans violently assaulting a prone man assumed to be a supporter of rivals Shanghai Shenhua.
The violent videos circulating on Chinese social media show the man being kicked multiple times in the head by an angry mob after having been pelted with eggs, while others film the assault on their phones.
The assault took place outside Jiangsu’s stadium before their FA Cup semi-final second leg against Shenhua.
The man walked away from his attackers but had to go to hospital, according to Chinese media. Police were investigating.
Shenhua also complained about offensive banners displayed by Jiangsu fans at the game.
Jiangsu won to reach the final against Guangzhou Evergrande.
